New Owners At The Lemon Tree Receive Warm Welcome
The new owners of The Lemon Tree have been delighted and overwhelmed by the tremendous response from both patrons and the local community regarding their new venture in the heart of Wrexham town centre.
Sam Regan and his wife Emma of Wrexham assumed ownership of the restaurant in early December and were thrilled when bookings rolled in for Christmas and New Year parties. Yet despite a busy start, Sam is keen to offer customers an even better dining experience with the introduction of a mouth-watering menu and plans to support community events.
Sam spent his early career as a chef, working in prestigious hotels and restaurants, including Carden Park, Macdonald Craxton Wood and, more recently, as General Manager at The Royal Oak Hotel in Welshpool. Having enjoyed a successful career in hospitality, Sam’s dream was to establish his own venue close to his roots where he could offer the very best restaurant experience. He explains:
“When the opportunity arose to purchase The Lemon Tree, we didn’t hesitate! There is something special about its unique architecture and the restaurant décor is quite stunning. However, the menu and service is what really will set us apart. We have kept on the existing team because they offer exceptional service but we have completely transformed the menu to create a destination restaurant for the locality. Taking over just before Christmas gave us a fantastic opportunity to meet many customers and talk to them about our plans to create a fine dining experience in the heart of Wrexham. The response was extremely positive!”
Having lived in Wrexham for most of his life, Sam knew he could rely on local businesses to support his new venture. In re-designing the menu, Sam has sourced produce from local suppliers, including Wrexham butcher D.L. Platt and Cheshire Ice Cream Farm. Wrexham Lager and ales from Erddig Brewery are now being served at the bar. Sam is also working with other local businesses, such as Lavender House Of Beauty and the Hair Boutique, to promote exclusive offers for customers of The Lemon Tree.
“We are very proud of our Wrexham roots and the amount of quality produce available to us locally,” said Sam. “We rely on the town’s support to make this a viable and successful venture, which is why it is our responsibility to back other businesses in the same way. By working with local enterprises, we can give our customers an exceptional dining experience, which is quite unique in this area.”
Having professed his commitment to delivering a high quality restaurant experience and identifying a number of innovative ways to promote the establishment as a destination for local people living and working in North East Wales and Cheshire, the transfer of ownership was progressed swiftly and keenly by Sam’s bank. Brian Hughes, Relationship Manager at Natwest in Wrexham, was instrumental in securing the sale having been impressed by Sam’s vision and comprehensive business plan. Commenting on the sale, Brian said:
“When the sale of The Lemon Tree was announced, Sam realised he had to move quickly. His attitude to the sale and his vision for the establishment was incredibly impressive, so much so, I was very keen to support the successful transfer of ownership. I was delighted the sale went through quickly for him so he could start implementing some of his exciting plans, which I know the general public will welcome.”
The Lemon Tree’s new menu features delicious dishes, including Braised Lamb Shoulder, Minera Beef Rib Steaks and Ox Cheek Terrine. General restaurant bookings are now being taken, along with those for weddings, anniversaries, parties and conferences.
